The following is an alternate set of rules to use for use with Kitsune.
Any changes not noted here use the base rules for this ancestry.
Your Change Shape feat is replaced with the Shapeshift actions listed below.
These forms replace the default and alternate forms listed in the base entry for Kitsune.

You return to your base form, as per the base description for Kitsune.
You choose this form at level 1, and may choose to have bare skin with the facial features of any common ancestry, instead of fur and a fox head.
Regardless of your choice of appearance, you will always have fox ears and at least one tail in this form.
All other aspects of this form are per the base rules.
Shapeshift - Tailless Form

Requires: A heritage with a tailless form, or the
Myriad Forms feat.
You shapeshift from your true form into your tailless form, taking on the appearance of a regular humanoid.
You choose your tailless form at level 1, which can be of any common ancestry from whatever region you are from.
This counts as creating a disguise for the
Impersonate use of
Deception.
You cannot use the unarmed attacks from your Kitsune heritage or ancestry feats while in this form.

Requires: A heritage with a fox alternate form, or the
Myriad Forms feat.
You shapeshift from your true form into that of a fox of Tiny size.
All of the following apply while in this form:
- You gain a +1 status bonus to DEX-based checks, which includes AC and Reflex saves.
- You suffer a -1 status penalty to STR-based checks and bonus damage from STR.
- Your base speed is 30 feet.
- You gain low-light vision, and Scent (imprecise) 30 feet.
- You are Trained in Unarmored Defense and Unarmed attacks
- You are Trained in Acrobatics, Athletics, and Stealth.
- You gain a Jaws unarmed attack, which deals 1d6 piercing damage, and has the Brawling, Finesse, and Unarmed traits.
- Your Strikes are limited to unarmed attacks gained from your Kitsune heritage and ancestry feats.
- You cannot speak, and cannot cast spells except those gained from your Kitsune heritage and ancestry feats.
- You cannot activate items, though you can carry small objects in your jaws.
- You are treated as Unarmored, ignoring the AC bonus, Check Penalty, and Movement Penalty of your armor.
- Magic effects from worn equipment still apply (such as armor runes).
This list replaces the list of Kitsune ancestry feats in the base rules.
When you take this feat, choose Electricity or Fire.
You gain a
Foxfire ranged unarmed attack with a maximum range of 20 feet.
The attack deals 1d4 damage of the chosen type,
and uses your CHA modifier for bonus damage instead of STR or DEX.
This attack requires the use of your tail, and has the
Sling,
Magical, and
Unarmed traits.
Special:
If you are a
Frozen Wind Kitsune, your Foxfire deals cold damage instead of electricity or fire.
You become Trained in Diplomacy and Deception.
If you are already Trained in one of those skills, you become Trained in a skill of your choice.
You also become trained in Kitsune Lore.
Kitsune Spell Familiarity
Level 1
You become Trained in Divine Spell Attacks and DCs.
During your daily preparations,
choose
Daze,
Forbidding Ward,
or
Figment.
Until your next daily preparations, you can cast this cantrip as a divine innate spell at will.
Cantrips are auto-heightened to a spell level equal to half your level (rounded up).
Retractable Claws
Level 1
You gain a
Claw unarmed attack that deals 1d4 slashing damage,
and has the
Brawling,
Agile,
Finesse, and
Unarmed traits.
Shapechanger's Intuition
Level 1
When you come within 10 feet of a creature that is transformed into another form or is Impersonating a specific creature,
the GM rolls a secret Perception check for you to realize that the creature is transformed,
even if you didn't spend an action to Seek against that creature.
You gain a tiny star orb as a
Familiar. This is a Tiny stone of light Bulk.
By default, the orb hovers next to you in your square, moving with you.
You may Interact to grasp the orb, stow it, or release it.
The orb cannot move independently of you, nor use familiar or master abilities that require it to move,
unless you select one of the familiar abilities that grants it a movement speed.
It always has the
Innate Surge master ability,
which counts against your limit for familiar and master abilities.

Open
Requires: You are in your fox alternate form.
Leap or Stride up to your speed, then attempt a Bite attack.
If you were Hidden at the start of this action, you remain Hidden until after making the attack.
When you shapeshift into your fox form,
you may alter your form slightly to allow you to speak,
and to cast spells that do not have the Manipulate trait.
When you shapeshift into your Tailless Form,
you may alter your form to retain your claws and/or your tail,
allowing you to use abilities that require them.
While using this altered form,
you suffer a -2 circumstance penalty to
Deception checks to disguise your true form.
You now have access to both the fox and tailless alternate forms.
Once per turn, you may revert to your true form as a free action.
Kitsune Spell Mysteries
Level 5
Requires: At least one innate spell from a Kitsune heritage or ancestry feat.
During your daily preparations,
choose
Bane,
Illusory Object,
or
Sanctuary.
You can cast this spell as a 1st-level divine innate spell once that day.
At 9th level, you become Expert rank in Spell Attacks and DCs with spells gained from your Kitsune heritage and ancestry feats.
Requires: A heritage with a tailless form, or the
Myriad Forms feat.
When you Shapeshift into your tailless form,
you may choose to gain the effects of a 3rd-level
Illusory Disguise for 1 hour or until you shift back,
except it's a Transmutation effect rather than an Illusion.
Usable once per day.
Gift of the Fox Spirit
Level 5
Requires: A heritage with a fox alternate form, or the
Myriad Forms feat.
Your fox form changes as follows:
- Your size increases to Small.
- You no longer suffer the status penalty to STR-based checks and bonus damage.
- You are Expert rank in Acrobatics and Stealth.
- Your Kitsune unarmed attacks deal 2 dice of damage.
- When in an area of natural vegetation, you may use the Hide and Sneak actions without needing Cover or Concealment.
Free Action
You always have time for a joke or prank.
You
Create a Diversion,
Conceal an Object, or
Hide.
All creatures who witnessed your Fox Trick then wise up to it, gaining a +2 status bonus vs your
Fox Trick for 24 hours.
This ability may be used once per hour.
Mystical Instinct
Level 9
Reaction
Requires: At least one innate spell from a Kitsune heritage or ancestry feat.
Trigger: You are the target of a spell or attack.
You instantly cast one of your available Kitsune innate spells.
This takes effect before the triggering spell or attack.
If your spell requires a target, the target must either be you or the attacking creature, and if choosing the creature,
it must be a valid target and in range of the spell.
Usable once per day.
Requires: Star Orb
Once per day, you can cast a 5th-level
Toxic Cloud as a divine innate spell.
The spell's normal components are replaced with a focus component (your star orb) and a somatic component to aim the orb towards the location for the spell.
Kitsune Spell Expertise
Level 13
Requires: Kitsune Spell Mysteries
You become Expert in Spell Attacks and DCs.
During your daily preparations,
choose
Confusion,
Death Ward,
or
Illusory Scene.
You can cast this spell as a 5th-level divine innate spell once that day.
At 17th level, you become Master rank in Spell Attacks and DCs with spells gained from your Kitsune heritage and ancestry feats.
Greater Fox Spirit
Level 13
Requires: Gift of the Fox Spirit
Your fox form changes as follows:
- Your base speed is 35 feet.
- You are Master rank in Acrobatics and Stealth.
- Your Kitsune unarmed attacks deal 3 dice of damage.
- Once per day, you may cast Invisibility on yourself.
Requires: A heritage with a fox alternate form, or the
Myriad Forms feat.
Once per day when you shapeshift into your fox form, your fox form gains the following effects for 1 minute, or until you shift back:
- Your size increases to Large, and you have a 10-foot reach.
- You now have a +1 status bonus to damage with unarmed attacks and to STR-based checks.
- You gain 20 temporary hitpoints.
- You are Master rank in Unarmored Defense and Unarmed Attacks.
- You are Master rank in Acrobatics, Athletics, and Stealth.
- Your Kitsune unarmed attacks deal 4 dice of damage.
- You gain the effects of a 7th-level Fiery Body.
Special:
If you are a
Frozen Wind Kitsune, your form is ice instead of fire.
This changes the immunity and damage from the fiery body effect to cold,
changes the weakness from cold to fire, and changes the
Produce Flame to
Ray of frost.
